With the Brunswick and Collie Rivers to the east and south, and the Leschenault Estuary to the west — Australind is an aquatic paradise where you can enjoy boating, fishing and windsurfing. The estuary has a large population of blue manna crabs (when in season) and the waters around
Australind are abundant with fish such as silver bream and whiting. The Leschenault Peninsula Conservation Reserve at the northern end of Australind is a haven for native flora and fauna. Coastal heath, tuart and peppermint woodland, saltmarsh and mangroves provide a range of habitats making it an ideal location for bird watching. Kangaroos often gather together along Cathedral Avenue and flocks of black swans are frequently seen on the estuary waters. There are also a number of picturesque walk trails in the surrounding area. |
